Kumiko Coaster Making Experience
Kumiko joinery, a 1,400-year-old Japanese craft, intricately assembles wooden pieces without nails, traditionally using repurposed timber. Once adorning doors and partitions, it brought “Irodori” (colour) into daily life.

Tsugaru Shamisen Experience
Join our interactive workshop to explore the Tsugaru Shamisen, often called the “Japanese guitar.” This three-stringed instrument, played with a bachi plectrum, offers a rich, distinctive sound. While not performance-based, the session provides a hands-on experience, deepening your appreciation of its craftsmanship and musical heritage. Japanese Sake Tasting Experience
Osaka’s sake culture has taken root over many generations. Discover its flavours, the skill of its brewers and the traditions passed down through the years in a tasting experience available exclusively to Club InterContinental guests.
Three drinks will be presented. First is “Seisho Hakutaka” (青松白鷹), also sold at Patisserie STRESSED, the patisserie on the hotel’s first floor. At Patisserie STRESSED, it is available to purchase in an original miniature komodaru (sake barrel), designed with the InterContinental Osaka logo.
Alongside it, two contrasting offerings from Amanosake, the sake brewery in Kawachinagano, Osaka, and an Insider Partner of the hotel. The first is “Toyotomi Hideyoshi Aiin no Fukkoshu, Sōbōshu” (豊臣秀吉愛飲之復古酒 僧房酒), which revives the method of the sake brewed by the monks of Kongo-ji Temple, a tradition that has continued since the Kamakura period. The second is “Amanosake Kodaimai Kōji Amazake” (天野酒 古代米麹甘酒), a non-alcoholic fermented drink made with ancient rice grown in Mihara, Sakai, Osaka, and known for its natural sweetness.
Each glass carries the story of its land, its traditions and the craftsmanship behind it. We invite you to explore Osaka’s sake-brewing heritage and the profound world of Japanese fermentation at your leisure.
